New Delhi, August 20, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended full support to India’s para-sports mission ahead of the World Para Athletics Championships 2025, to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi from September 27 to October 5.
The mega event will feature 2,500+ participants from 104 countries, competing in 186 medal events across men’s, women’s, and mixed categories—making it the biggest para-sport championship ever hosted in India.
PCI Chief Patron Vanathi Srinivasan invited PM Modi to inaugurate the Opening Ceremony, calling the event “a celebration of inclusivity, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of para-athletes.”
With extensive upgrades at JLN Stadium ensuring world-class accessibility, New Delhi 2025 promises to be a historic milestone in global para-sports and a proud moment for India.
