Beauty Dungdung scored the crucial goal for India, while Japan fought back in the second half to level the contest.
India started on a strong note, with Beauty Dungdung breaking the deadlock in the opening quarter through a brilliant field goal that stunned the Japanese defence. However, Japan responded with determination and equalised in the second half. India’s goalkeeper stood tall under pressure, making crucial saves to deny Japan a winning goal.
With this draw, India secured their spot in the summit clash, where they will face China on Sunday. China defeated South Korea in the other Super 4 encounter to set up a thrilling title clash. As defending champions, India will look to retain their crown and reaffirm their dominance in Asian hockey.
