Australia Women sealed the Delhi ODI by 43 runs to win the series 2-1 in a high-scoring thriller. Batting first, they piled up 412 runs in 47.5 overs. Beth Mooney smashed a 57-ball 138, the second-fastest century in women’s ODIs, while Georgia Voll (81) and Ellyse Perry (68) provided strong support.
India’s chase was powered by Smriti Mandhana, who hammered a record-breaking 50-ball century, the second-fastest in women’s ODIs. She scored 125 and added 121 runs with captain Harmanpreet Kaur (52). However, both fell in quick succession, halting India’s momentum.
Deepti Sharma fought hard with a counter-attacking 72, adding 65 runs with Sneh Rana to keep hopes alive. But needing 59 from 46 balls, Deepti’s dismissal ended India’s chances. Despite that, India’s 369 became the highest-ever total while chasing in women’s ODIs.
Kim Garth starred with the ball, picking three wickets for Australia. India’s fielding lapses, including dropped catches, proved costly as Australia maintained their proud record of never losing a bilateral ODI series in India. With the World Cup just 10 days away, both teams showcased fearless cricket.
