ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour ignites cricketing spirit in Mumbai

Mumbai, 22 September 2025: The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour with DP World brought electrifying energy to Mumbai, inspiring future cricketers and celebrating women’s achievements in the sport. The iconic trophy travelled across the city, creating memorable moments for students, players, and fans alike.

At SVKM JV Parekh International School, students cheered the arrival of the trophy along with dignitaries, including actress Saiyami Kher and DP World’s Aparna Chablani. As part of DP World’s ‘Beyond Boundaries’ initiative, cricket kits were distributed to budding players, giving them tools to pursue their cricketing dreams. The trophy then reached MCA’s Sharad Pawar Indoor Academy, where MCA President Ajinkya Naik, council members, and women cricketers welcomed it.

The MCA also honoured the city’s women captains by unveiling a dedicated wall of recognition, followed by a panel discussion with former India players Shobha Pandit, Sulakshana Naik, and Sangita Katware. The tour further stopped at Mumbai’s iconic landmarks like Gateway of India, CST, Oval Maidan, Girgaon Chowpatty, and Powai Lake, where young players got a closer look at the coveted cup.

Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium will host India’s key matches — against New Zealand on 23 October and Bangladesh on 26 October — along with the second semi-final on 30 October. The grand finale is scheduled for 2 November in Navi Mumbai or Colombo. With tickets priced as low as ₹100, the tournament promises to make world-class cricket more accessible to fans across India and Sri Lanka.
