IND vs SA 4th T20I abandoned due to dense fog in Lucknow

Lucknow, December 17: The fourth T20 International between India and South Africa was called off without a single ball being bowled after thick fog and smog severely reduced visibility at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday night.

The toss was initially delayed as a heavy blanket of fog covered the ground, making playing conditions unsafe. Match officials carried out multiple inspections before deciding that visibility had not improved enough to allow the game to proceed, leading to the abandonment of the contest.

The no-result means India continue to lead the five-match T20I series 2-1, with one game remaining. Both teams were forced to return without any action after waiting for conditions to clear, disappointing fans who had turned up at the venue.

Attention now shifts to the fifth and final T20I, where South Africa will look to level the series while India aim to seal it outright. Weather conditions will once again be closely monitored as the series reaches its decisive stage.
