Mumbai, February 19, 2026: The sixth season of MI Junior, the flagship inter-school cricket tournament by the Mumbai Indians under the Reliance Foundation’s Education and Sports For All (ESA) initiative, began at the MCA Cricket Ground, BKC, Mumbai, on Thursday.

Speaking at the launch, Mumbai Indians Bowling Coach Paras Mhambrey highlighted the tournament’s impact, saying it provides young cricketers with a platform to dream big and experience professional-level facilities. He expressed confidence that some participants could go on to represent Mumbai in the coming years.

The Mumbai leg is affiliated with the Mumbai Cricket Association, while the Nagpur leg (starting February 25) is affiliated with the Vidarbha Cricket Association. This season features Boys U-14, Girls U-15, and Boys U-16 categories, followed by a Rising Stars phase based on performances.

Season 6 will witness 140 matches, 1,380 players, 92 teams, and support from 184 coaches. Winners will earn a training session with the Mumbai Indians coaching staff.

The opener between Shardashram Vidyamandir International School and St. Rocks High School ended in a thrilling draw, with both teams sharing points.
