A major boost for indoor cricket in Maharashtra was witnessed as the MahaIndoor Cricket Association hosted a historic District Expansion Program at the iconic Garware Club House, located inside Wankhede Stadium.
The event brought together sports organizers from across the state, marking a strong push toward developing indoor cricket at the grassroots level. International umpire Shahabaz Mazgaonkar led a technical masterclass, highlighting the fast-paced and strategic nature of indoor cricket, helping participants understand its unique format.
Association leaders Kshitij Vedak and Balasaheb Toraskar outlined a clear vision to build a structured network across districts and talukas. Their focus remains on providing players from all regions a platform to compete at higher levels.
Organizers from Jalgaon, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and Amravati expressed strong interest in hosting state-level tournaments before May 2026, signaling rapid expansion plans.
With growing enthusiasm among cricket lovers, indoor cricket is set to emerge as a major sporting attraction in Maharashtra. This initiative marks the beginning of a promising new chapter for the sport in the state.
