Mumbai, May 31, 2026: The Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai League 2026 and the inaugural Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai Women’s League were officially launched in a grand ceremony in Mumbai, setting the stage for 13 days of thrilling cricket action at the iconic Wankhede Stadium from June 1 to 13.
The launch event brought together Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials, team owners, and star captains including Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dube, Siddhesh Lad, Sarfaraz Khan, and women’s captains Sayali Satghare, Humairaa Kaazi, and Saima Thakor.
MCA President Ajinkya Naik highlighted the league’s role in nurturing future stars, recalling how players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shardul Thakur progressed to represent India after emerging through Mumbai cricket.
Captains expressed excitement ahead of the tournament, with Rahane and Iyer praising the platform for young cricketers, while Thakur predicted fierce competition among Mumbai’s top talent. Defending champions Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals, led by Siddhesh Lad, will aim to retain their crown.
The women’s competition will make its debut this season, providing a significant platform for emerging female cricketers. SOBO Mumbai Falcons captain Sayali Satghare said her team aims to play fearless cricket and entertain fans throughout the tournament.
A total of 30 matches will be played across the men’s and women’s competitions, culminating in the finals on June 13. All matches will be broadcast live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
