Haaland-Led Norway Face England in Historic World Cup Quarterfinal

Miami:

Norway will attempt to continue their remarkable FIFA World Cup 2026 journey when they take on England in a highly anticipated quarterfinal clash on Saturday.

After ending a 28-year absence from the World Cup, Norway have emerged as one of the tournament’s surprise packages. Led by prolific striker Erling Haaland the Scandinavian side defeated both Ivory Coast and Brazil in the knockout rounds to reach their first-ever World Cup quarterfinal.

Haaland has been one of the stars of the tournament, scoring seven goals in his debut World Cup campaign and becoming a leading contender in the Golden Boot race. The 25-year-old will now face England captain Harry Kane in a battle between two of the world’s most dangerous forwards.

England, meanwhile, arrive as favourites after topping their group and defeating Mexico in an entertaining last-16 encounter. Kane and Jude Bellingham have been central to England’s progress, contributing the majority of the team’s goals so far.

Despite England’s attacking strength, their defence has shown vulnerabilities, keeping only two clean sheets in five matches. Norway will look to exploit those weaknesses with the pace and finishing ability of Haaland and Alexander Sorloth.
