Navi Mumbai, July 17, 2025: RRP DEFENCE LTD (RRP GROUP, India), through its unit Vimananu Ltd, has partnered with CYGR (Franco-American) to set up an advanced drone manufacturing facility in Navi Mumbai, boosting India’s defence and aerospace self-reliance under the Make in India initiative.
The facility will produce next-generation UAVs, including:
Hand-Launched Fixed Wing Drones
Nano Drones for close-range surveillance
ISR Drones for Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance
Aimed at defence, homeland security, and industrial sectors, this collaboration blends French-American drone technology with Indian manufacturing expertise.
“This is a defining step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, delivering drones tailored to India’s operational needs,” said Mr. Rajendra Chodankar, Chairman, RRP Defence Ltd.
“We’re excited to co-develop and transfer technology, strengthening India’s UAV capabilities,” added Mr. George El Aily, Director, CYGR France.
The partnership kicks off with an immediate USD 20 million contract for Make in India global defence exports, targeting hundreds of drones annually.
