Mumbai, 30 July 2025: Sports and wellness advocate Ms. Sara Tendulkar today inaugurated two new vocational shops and the newly refurbished premises of Together Foundation in Andheri, Mumbai — a milestone moment in the foundation’s decade-long mission to empower adults with autism and intellectual disabilities.
The new outlets are an extension of the foundation’s sheltered workshop and feature:
✅ A shop selling fresh edible products from the foundation’s FSSAI-certified bakery.
✅ A shop offering handcrafted paper and cloth bags, pouches, and festive items.
All sales proceeds directly support stipends for the adults who create these products, helping them gain real-world work experience, retail skills, and independence.
“These shops are more than retail spaces; they’re gateways to confidence and independence,” said Ms. Sara Tendulkar, Director, Sachin Tendulkar Foundation.
Together Foundation, founded in 2015 by Sangeetha and V Chakrapani, is a Mumbai-based not-for-profit that provides training, employment, and life skills to adults with special needs, focusing on dignity and self-reliance.
“This has been our dream since day one,” shared Sangeetha Chakrapani, Founder and Trustee. “We’re grateful to Ms. Sara Tendulkar for supporting this milestone.”
Since its inception, Together Foundation’s journey has been supported by Dr. Anjali Tendulkar and Dr. Y.K. Amdekar, whose guidance helped shape its inclusive vision.
