Uber Enters B2B Logistics with Uber Direct, Launches Metro Ticketing in Bangalore via ONDC

Uber has expanded its services in India by entering the B2B logistics space with Uber Direct, powered by the ONDC network. Alongside this, the company has also introduced metro ticketing for Bangalore Metro on the Uber app, offering users a seamless way to plan and pay for public transport within the same platform.

Uber Direct functions as a backend logistics solution for businesses, differing from Uber Courier, which is customer-facing. Orders placed on a seller’s app or website are fulfilled by Uber Direct without direct interaction from the consumer. The service has launched in Bangalore with grocery deliveries for Zepto and KPN Farm Fresh, with food delivery for brands like KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Rebel Foods to follow soon.

Metro ticketing via ONDC on the Uber app has already seen strong uptake in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. With Bangalore now added, users can buy QR-based metro tickets and access real-time travel information using UPI as the sole payment mode. This integration aims to improve first and last-mile connectivity while offering commuters more convenience.

Uber emphasized that these new launches reflect its broader vision to help people “Go anywhere, Get anything” by strengthening its logistics and mobility ecosystem. More metro integrations and Uber Direct expansions are planned for 2026 as the company deepens its commitment to India.
