Uber & Sulabh Come Together to Offer Free Sanitation Access for Drivers

Uber and Sulabh International have partnered on World Toilet Day to offer free access to clean and safe public toilets for drivers across nine cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. The initiative aims to improve hygiene, comfort, and overall wellbeing for drivers who spend long hours on the road.

Drivers can avail the facility by showing their Uber registration ID at any Sulabh-operated toilet. All locations will be maintained with regular cleaning and essential supplies. To support women drivers, 50 Sulabh complexes will also feature sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators, ensuring free menstrual products and proper disposal.

Amit Deshpande, Head of City Operations, Uber India and South Asia, said the collaboration reflects Uber’s commitment to improving daily work conditions for drivers while supporting the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Sulabh International President Kumar Dilip appreciated Uber’s focus on driver dignity and convenience, adding that this partnership combines technology with social innovation to make sanitation a basic right—not a privilege—for the workforce that keeps India moving.
