Ajay Singh Re-Elected as Boxing Federation of India President, Pramod Kumar Becomes Secretary General

New Delhi, August 21, 2025: Ajay Singh has been re-elected as the President of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) after winning the landmark elections with 40 votes against challenger Jaslal Pradhan’s 26. This victory extends his leadership and reaffirms the strong backing of state associations. Alongside him, Pramod Kumar of Uttar Pradesh secured the position of Secretary General, while Pon Baskaran was elected Treasurer in a closely fought contest.

Addressing the members after the results, Singh described the win as a recognition of the collective progress made by Indian boxing under his leadership. He thanked the BFI Interim Committee and World Boxing observer for ensuring fair elections, while pledging to focus on grassroots development, youth programs, and preparation for upcoming global events like the World Championship and World Cup.

With the elections concluded, the BFI enters a new phase of stability. Under Singh’s tenure, Indian boxing has seen consistent organisation of national championships, uninterrupted opportunities for athletes, and notable international achievements. The newly elected leadership aims to build on this momentum and strengthen India’s position as a growing force in world boxing.
