Dubai, Sept 24: Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 75 off 37 balls and Kuldeep Yadav’s brilliant 3/18 powered India to a 41-run victory over Bangladesh in the Super Four clash of the Asia Cup, sealing their place in the final.
Batting first, India posted 168/6 in 20 overs, thanks to Abhishek’s fiery start alongside Shubman Gill (29) in a 77-run opening stand. Hardik Pandya added a quick 38, but the middle order faltered after the openers’ dismissal.
In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 127 in 19.3 overs. Saif Hassan fought with a valiant 69, but lacked support as Kuldeep, Varun Chakravarthy (2/29) and Axar Patel (1/37) ran through the batting order.
With this win, India stormed into Sunday’s final. Sri Lanka, having lost both Super Four matches, are out of contention, leaving Pakistan and Bangladesh to fight for the remaining spot in their virtual knockout clash on Thursday.
