The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash prize of ₹51 crore for the Indian women’s cricket team following their historic victory at the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the reward, stating that the amount will be distributed among the players, selectors, and support staff led by Amol Muzumdar. He emphasized that the sum is being given entirely by the BCCI and does not involve funds from the ICC.
This reward comes in addition to the ICC’s prize money for the tournament. Before the World Cup, ICC Chairman Jay Shah had announced a significant increase in prize money, with the winning team set to receive USD 4.48 million (around ₹42 crore), which is notably higher than the amounts awarded in previous editions.
India secured the title by defeating South Africa in the final held at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, marking the team’s first-ever Women’s World Cup win.
