The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) is set to host the 9th Men’s and 9th Women’s National Boxing Championships together for the first time at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida. The event will run from December 31, 2025, to January 6, 2026, with the official draw scheduled for December 30.
Top units from across the country will compete in ten weight categories each, following full World Boxing rules. Boxers born between January 1, 1985, and December 31, 2006, are eligible, with all bouts conducted in the standard three-round format using the 10-point must system.
The Nationals arrive at a crucial moment for Indian boxing, following the country’s best-ever show at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, where India won 20 medals including nine golds. Many of those medalists—including Sachin Siwach, Hitesh Gulia, Minakshi, and Jaismine—emerged from the previous Nationals.
BFI President Ajay Singh said the Championships will play a key role in identifying talent for the upcoming high-performance cycle leading up to LA 2028. Defending champions include Services in the men’s category and Railways in the women’s team event.
