Gujarat Giants look ahead to WPL 2026 with faith and focus

Mumbai, 5 January 2026 — As preparations intensify for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 season, the Gujarat Giants have combined competitive focus with spiritual grounding. The Adani Sportsline-owned franchise commenced its final build-up with a visit to Mumbai’s iconic Siddhivinayak Temple, seeking blessings ahead of the tournament that begins on January 9 in Navi Mumbai.

Head Coach Michael Klinger and Bowling Coach Pravin Tambe led the delegation, accompanied by players Tanuja Kanwar, Bharti Fulmali and Ayushi Soni. Also present were Video Analyst Saurabh Walkar and Sanjay Adesara, Chief Business Officer, Adani Sportsline. The visit marked a reflective pause for the squad as it prepares for a demanding campaign.

The team is currently stationed in Mumbai for its pre-season camp, where training sessions are geared toward sharpening combinations, strengthening squad depth, and building early momentum. After securing a breakthrough playoff berth in the previous edition, the Giants are now aiming to elevate their performance and take the next decisive step toward title contention.

With renewed confidence and a clearer tactical roadmap, Gujarat Giants will open their WPL 2026 campaign against UP Warriorz on Saturday, January 10 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The franchise hopes to convert last season’s progress into sustained consistency through the tournament.

As the countdown to the new season continues, the Giants remain grounded in belief and driven by competitive ambition — determined to transform preparation and faith into performance on the field.
