Gujarat Titans have bolstered their coaching setup ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 season by appointing former Australia opener Matthew Hayden as batting coach and former India wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya as assistant coach.
Hayden, a World Cup winner, brings vast experience with over 15,000 international runs in 273 matches for Australia national cricket team. Known for his aggressive approach, he is expected to shape the Titans’ batting identity with a modern, attacking mindset. Speaking on his role, Hayden emphasized setting high standards and controlling games through dominant batting.
Dahiya, who represented India national cricket team in 19 ODIs and two Tests, has built a strong reputation in coaching. He guided Delhi to the 2007–08 Ranji Trophy title and brings valuable domestic and IPL experience to the setup.
The appointments reflect the franchise’s commitment to strengthening its cricketing ecosystem. Since debuting in 2022, Gujarat Titans have been one of the most consistent teams, reaching the playoffs in three of four seasons and winning the title in their debut year.
With an enhanced coaching group, the Titans aim to continue their strong run in IPL 2026.
