India Clinch 48-Run Win Over Australia, lead Series 2-1

Team India continued their impressive run in the T20 series, defeating Australia by 48 runs in the fourth match at Carrara Oval, Queensland, on Thursday. With this victory, India secured an unassailable 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Chasing a target of 168 runs, Australia were bundled out for 119 in 18.2 overs. Despite a decent start from skipper Mitchell Marsh (30 off 24 balls), the hosts faltered against India’s spin attack. Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy tightened the screws in the middle overs, while Washington Sundar wrapped up the innings with three wickets.

Earlier, India posted 167/8 after being asked to bat first. Shubman Gill top-scored with a fluent 46 runs, while Axar Patel contributed a quick 21 off 11 balls down the order. For Australia, Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa picked up three wickets each, though Zampa proved slightly expensive.

For his all-round display, Axar Patel was named the Player of the Match, playing a crucial role both with bat and ball in India’s commanding win.
