India shone brightly at the HULIC DAIHATSU Japan Para Badminton International 2025, with Pramod Bhagat stealing the spotlight by winning three gold medals — in men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. Bhagat showcased incredible resilience in the SL3 singles final, defeating Japan’s Daisuke Fujihara 17-21, 21-19, 21-10 after a thrilling comeback, before teaming up with Sukant Kadam for doubles gold and Manisha Ramdass for a mixed doubles title.
Tokyo Paralympic champion Krishna Nagar added to India’s golden run with two gold medals, triumphing in the SH6 men’s singles and mixed doubles alongside Nithya Sre. Nagar outclassed USA’s Miles Krajewski in straight sets (22-20, 21-13), displaying his trademark agility and composure under pressure.
Sukant Kadam impressed with one gold and one silver, sharing the doubles gold with Bhagat and clinching silver in the SL4 singles after a spirited battle against fellow Indian Naveen Sivakumar. His consistent performance highlighted India’s growing dominance in global para badminton.
India’s stellar campaign included medals across multiple categories — Mansi Joshi and Thulasimathi Murugesan won women’s doubles gold, Nithya Sre claimed singles gold in SH6, and several others secured silver and bronze. With this outstanding haul, India reaffirmed its status as a powerhouse in para badminton, showcasing depth, talent, and world-class determination.
