India had to settle for silver after going down 1-4 to China in the Women’s Asia Cup 2025 final held at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium, Hangzhou. Navneet Kaur gave India a dream start with a penalty corner conversion in the very first minute, but the defending champions China bounced back strongly.
Zixia Ou equalised in the 21st minute, followed by Hong Li’s strike in the third quarter that handed China the lead. Meirong Zou then sealed the contest in the final quarter with a quick double as India’s defence struggled to cope with China’s pace and precision.
With this win, China cemented their dominance as Asia Cup winners, Asian Games champions, and Paris Olympics silver medallists. India, meanwhile, missed out on a direct qualification spot for the 2026 FIH Women’s World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
