India produced a stunning performance to beat Australia by 5 wickets in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semifinal, chasing down a record 339-run target — the highest successful run-chase in tournament history.
Jemimah Rodrigues was the star of the night, scoring an unbeaten 127 off 134 balls, guiding India to victory in the final overs. Harmanpreet Kaur played a captain’s knock of 89 (88), while Richa Ghosh’s quickfire 26(16) ensured India crossed the line with 8 balls to spare.
Earlier, Australia had posted 338 all out — powered by Phoebe Litchfield’s 119 and Ellyse Perry’s 77 — before the Indian bowlers staged a comeback with key wickets in the death overs.
With this historic win, India stormed into the final of the Women’s World Cup 2025, ending Australia’s reign as defending champions.
