IndianOil New Delhi 2025: World’s Best Para Athletes Set for Historic Showdown

The IndianOil New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships will be held from 27th September to 5th October at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, marking the first time India hosts this global sporting spectacle. Over 2,200 athletes and officials from 104 countries will compete across 186 medal events, making it India’s biggest-ever para sporting event.

The Championships will feature over 100 Paris Paralympics medallists, who together won 308 medals—including 112 golds—returning to battle for supremacy once again. With 15 more medal events than the previous edition in Kobe, the expanded programme includes 101 events for men, 84 for women, and one mixed event.

Top stars to watch include Germany’s legendary Markus Rehm, India’s javelin hero Sumit Antil, Switzerland’s Catherine Debrunner, and Brazil’s sprint king Petrucio Ferreira. India’s Praveen Kumar and Preeti Pal will also look to shine in front of the home crowd, alongside global names like Vanessa Low, Safia Djelal, Jesse Zesseu, and Nassima Saifi.

The New Delhi 2025 edition promises thrilling rivalries and inspirational performances, while also giving rising talents the stage to showcase their skills. More than a championship, it is set to become a landmark moment for Indian sport, celebrating the resilience, determination, and spirit of para athletes before an electrifying home audience.
