Mumbai, Nov 21: Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar motivated budding cricketers to stay mentally strong and “never give up till the last wicket falls” during the prize distribution of the U-12 tournament hosted by the Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation at Oval Maidan, Churchgate.
Victory Cricket Academy clinched the title with a 42-run win over Bravo Cricket Academy in the final. Victory scored 203 in 33.1 overs, led by Krishiv Advilkar (48) and Arham Chhajed (25). In reply, Bravo managed 161/7 despite Rayhan Sharma’s fighting 66.
Sparsh Sanghare was named Player of the Match, while Shaurya Bhanushali emerged Player of the Tournament with 199 runs and 4 wickets. Meet Yadav was the best bowler and Aarav Dixit the best fielder.
Vengsarkar along with Mumbai selectors Shridhar Mandle, Azeem Khan and Ravi Thakkar presented the awards.
