Mumbai, August 22, 2025: The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 is set to begin on August 29, bringing fans an action-packed season with major format upgrades. With matches scheduled across Vizag, Jaipur, Chennai, and Delhi, the league is reaching deeper into India’s kabaddi heartlands.
One of the biggest changes is the 108-match league stage, where every team will play 18 games. This ensures more opportunities for franchises to showcase their talent while delivering fans high-intensity kabaddi throughout the tournament.
For the first time, Golden Raid and tie-breaker shootouts will be introduced in league-stage matches, eliminating drawn results. If scores are tied, a structured 5-raid shootout will decide the winner, followed by the Golden Raid if required. This promises thrilling finishes and guarantees clear results in every encounter.
The points system has also been simplified—2 points for a win, 0 for a loss—making the league standings easier for fans to track. This clarity ensures every game directly impacts the table and adds weight to each result.
Another exciting addition is the Play-ins and revamped Playoffs format. The top 8 teams from the league stage will now remain in contention for the title. Teams finishing 5th to 8th will clash in Play-ins, while the top 2 teams gain a direct advantage with a chance to secure a Final berth via Qualifier 1. This structure keeps more teams and fan bases invested till the very end.
With more matches, decisive outcomes, and a thrilling Playoff path, PKL Season 12 is set to raise the stakes higher than ever before. Fans can expect non-stop kabaddi entertainment as the road to the championship becomes tougher, more competitive, and more exciting.
