Cricket legend and ISPL Core Committee Member Sachin Tendulkar delivered an inspiring message to young players during the Indian Street Premier League Season 3 Auction, emphasising passion, discipline, and self-improvement as the keys to growth. Reflecting on his early years, Tendulkar said he was driven purely by love for the game, recalling days when he trained for up to 12 hours during school cricket. He stressed that without passion and inner fire, players cannot progress to the next level.
Tendulkar advised players to focus on hard work, planning, and execution, noting that expectations are a result of previous success, not a burden. He encouraged them to view pressure positively and remember that their own past performances have created the belief people have in them. Instead of comparing themselves to others, he urged players to improve every single day and build consistency that leaves an impact on the field.
Highlighting success stories from past ISPL seasons such as Abhishek and Irfan — who progressed to KKR nets and Mumbai cricket respectively — Tendulkar said the league has already proven to be a powerful platform for raw talent. His message to all participants was clear: stay true to yourself, seize the opportunity, and “climb the mountain so you can see the world,” meaning players should pursue growth for their own development, not external validation.
The upcoming eight-team ISPL Season 3 will be held at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat from January 9 to February 6, 2026. This season adds extra motivation for players, with the Most Valuable Player set to take home a brand-new Porsche 911, raising the excitement around one of the league’s biggest editions yet.
