New Delhi, August 26, 2025 – A 27-member Indian boxing contingent has reached Sheffield, UK for a high-intensity training camp ahead of the World Boxing Championships 2025.
The squad includes 9 male and 8 female boxers, supported by 8 coaches and 2 staff. More members will join by August 28, before the final training phase in Liverpool from September 2.
The camp at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield offers world-class sparring with international athletes. Coaches Dharmender Yadav, Torak Kharpran, Jai Singh Patil, Abhishek Sah, Chandralal, Mohammed Aitesamuddin, Geeta Chanu, and Radia Devi are guiding the boxers.
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) aims to provide maximum exposure and early acclimatisation to boost India’s medal hopes.
