Mumbai, September 17, 2025: U Mumba finished the Vizag leg of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 on a high, climbing into the top three with dominant wins and key individual milestones. A 20-point victory over Bengaluru Bulls, a thrilling comeback against Tamil Thalaivas, and a solid win over Patna Pirates highlighted their campaign. Captain Sunil Kumar crossed the 400-tackle mark, while Parvesh Bhainswal also registered his 350th career tackle point.
The team’s success was driven by a balance of raiding firepower and defensive resilience. Ajit Chouhan stole the show with a Super 10 and a sensational 6-point super raid that drew comparisons with “Record Breaker” Pardeep Narwal. Rinku’s High Five against Tamil and Sunil Kumar’s clutch defensive calls kept opponents under pressure, making U Mumba one of the toughest defensive units in the league.
All-rounder Anil Jasta, PKL D-category’s highest signing at ₹78 lakh, added versatility on both ends of the mat, while young Iranian raider Amirmohammad Zafardanesh impressed with a 12-point game against Patna Pirates. Together, the rising stars have emerged as X-factors, boosting U Mumba’s push for a playoff spot.
Head coach Anil Chaprana and captain Sunil Kumar have underlined the team’s focus on defensive coordination, raid efficiency, and player fitness as they begin their Jaipur leg on September 18 at the SMS Indoor Stadium. With momentum from Vizag and growing squad depth, U Mumba aim to strengthen their top-three standing and push further towards the PKL Season 12 title race.
