Neeraj Chopra, Lovlina Borgohain and Mirabai Chanu Lead India’s 126-Member Commonwealth Games 2026 Squad

India has announced a strong 126-member contingent for the Commonwealth Games 2026, with several Olympic medallists set to spearhead the nation’s challenge across nine sports, including para events.

Double Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra will be one of India’s biggest medal hopes in athletics, while Olympic bronze medallist boxer Lovlina Borgohain and Tokyo Olympic silver medallist weightlifter Mirabai Chanu headline the squad.

Athletics will have the largest representation with 32 athletes. Apart from Neeraj Chopra, the team includes prominent names such as Tejaswin Shankar, Parul Chaudhary, Murali Sreeshankar, Tajinderpal Singh Toor, Rohit Yadav and Priyanka Goswami.

The boxing contingent features 14 athletes, including Lovlina Borgohain, Jaismine Lamboria, Preeti Pawar, Sachin Siwach and Narender Berwal. India will also field a 12-member weightlifting squad led by Mirabai Chanu, along with Bindyarani Devi, Harjinder Kaur and Lovepreet Singh.

Track cycling, swimming, judo, lawn bowls and artistic gymnastics will also see Indian participation. Swimmers such as Sajan Prakash, Srihari Nataraj and Aryan Nehra will represent India, while the judo team includes athletes like Tulika Maan, Avtar Singh and Yash Ghangas.

India’s para athletes will compete in athletics, powerlifting, swimming, cycling and wheelchair basketball. The para contingent includes names such as Suyash Jadhav, Shreyansh Trivedi and Jaspreet Kaur.

The Commonwealth Games 2026 squad combines experienced Olympic performers with emerging young talents, aiming to improve India’s medal tally at the multi-sport event. With champions like Neeraj, Lovlina and Mirabai leading the way, expectations will be high as Indian athletes prepare to compete on the global stage.
