JioStar has secured the exclusive linear and digital broadcasting rights for The Hundred 2026 in India, bringing live coverage of both the men’s and women’s competitions to fans through JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
The sixth edition of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) innovative 100-ball cricket tournament began on July 21 with a double-header at The Oval. The tournament will feature 68 matches across the men’s and women’s competitions, with the finals scheduled at Lord’s on August 16.
The Hundred has attracted some of the biggest names in world cricket, with stars including Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Rashid Khan, Heinrich Klaasen, Phil Salt, Tim David, David Miller and Harry Brook set to feature.
The women’s competition will have a strong Indian presence, with several Women in Blue stars participating. Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh will represent Manchester Super Giants, Deepti Sharma will play for SunRisers Leeds, while Jemimah Rodrigues will feature for Southern Brave.
This season also marks a new era for several franchises, with Oval Invincibles becoming MI London, Northern Superchargers renamed SunRisers Leeds, and Manchester Originals transforming into Manchester Super Giants following ownership changes.
Speaking about the acquisition, Prashant Khanna, Head of Rights & Innovation for Sports, JioStar, said The Hundred has emerged as one of the world’s most innovative cricket competitions and expressed excitement about bringing the tournament to Indian audiences.
MI London, the three-time defending men’s champions, will aim to continue their dominance under their new identity.
