The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) has announced the schedule for its inaugural season, with Europe’s first major franchise T20 competition set to run from August 26 to September 20, 2026, across the Netherlands and Ireland.
The opening match will be played at Voorburg Cricket Club in The Hague, where Jonty Rhodes’ Rotterdam Dockers will face Steve Waugh’s Amsterdam Flames. The following day, Rahul Dravid-backed Dublin Guardians, captained by Ravichandran Ashwin, will take on Glenn Maxwell’s Belfast Wolves.
The six-team tournament will feature 32 matches over 26 days. Voorburg will host the opening phase before the competition shifts to Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin for the remainder of the league stage, Qualifier and the final.
Each team will play every other side twice in a round-robin format. The table-toppers will qualify directly for the final, while the second and third-placed teams will compete in the Qualifier for the remaining spot.
The league boasts an impressive line-up of international stars, including Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, Heinrich Klaasen, Tim David, Mitchell Marsh, Trent Boult and Ravichandran Ashwin, alongside leading European cricketers such as Paul Stirling, Scott Edwards, Josh Little, Aryan Dutt and Max O’Dowd.
ETPL Co-Founder Dhiraj Malhotra said the fixture announcement marks a major milestone ahead of the league’s launch. Co-founded by Abhishek Bachchan, the ETPL has been developed in partnership with Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland and the Royal Dutch Cricket Association to accelerate the growth of cricket across Europe.
