India produced its best-ever boxing performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, winning seven gold medals and three silver medals after all 10 finalists finished on the podium.
The gold medallists were Preeti Pawar (54kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg), Jaismine Lamboria (57kg), Priya Ghanghas (60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), Sachin Siwach (60kg) and Ankush Panghal (80kg). Their dominant performances helped India climb from sixth to fourth in the overall medals table.
Among the standout victories, Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria registered emphatic 5-0 wins over Canada’s Scarlett Savannah Delgado and Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh, respectively. Sakshi Chaudhary and Arundhati Choudhary also secured convincing 5-0 triumphs, while Priya Ghanghas won her final 4-1. Sachin Siwach edged Namibia’s Tryagain Morning Ndevelo 3-2 in a closely fought contest, and Ankush Panghal capped India’s golden run with victory in the men’s 80kg final.
India’s silver medals came through Jadumani Singh (55kg), Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain (75kg) and Narender Berwal (90+kg). Jadumani lost 0-5 to Australia’s Jye Dixon, Lovlina went down 1-4 against Australia’s Emma Sue Greentree, while Narender Berwal finished with silver in the heavyweight final.
India had sent 14 boxers to Glasgow, with 10 reaching the semifinals and all 10 progressing to the finals, ensuring a 100 percent medal conversion. The remarkable campaign marks India’s most successful boxing outing in Commonwealth Games history and significantly strengthens the country’s overall medal tally in Glasgow.
