The reigning world champion completely outclassed her opponent, forcing the referee to halt the bout in the final round due to her overwhelming superiority.
Lamboria showcased exceptional speed, precision and aggressive attacking throughout the contest, leaving her rival with little opportunity to fight back. The emphatic victory guarantees India at least a silver medal, while the 24-year-old will now aim to clinch the Commonwealth Games gold.
The boxer from Bhiwani, Haryana, has enjoyed a remarkable run in recent years, having won the World Boxing Championships title and multiple World Boxing Cup gold medals. She had earlier assured India of a medal by defeating England’s Elise Glynn in the quarterfinals before producing another commanding performance to reach the summit clash.
Jaismine’s qualification for the final further strengthens India’s outstanding boxing campaign at the Glasgow Games, where the country’s boxers have already surpassed their medal tally from the Birmingham 2022 edition and remain in contention for multiple gold medals.
