Mumbai: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has unveiled the official logo for the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League, marking a significant step in strengthening women’s cricket in the city. The association also announced May 2, 2026, as the date for the player auction for both men’s and women’s tournaments.
The launch of the women’s league signals a structural shift in Mumbai’s cricketing ecosystem, aiming to provide a professional platform to identify and nurture emerging female talent. The inaugural edition will feature three teams, designed to ensure maximum match exposure and competitive intensity.
MCA President Ajinkya Naik stated that Mumbai continues to set benchmarks in cricket and the new league will help build a strong pathway for future women cricketers. League Governing Council Chairman Rajdip Gupta emphasized the vision of creating a robust ecosystem that consistently develops and promotes talent.
The player auction will see participation from 2,411 registered players, including 363 women, highlighting the depth of cricketing talent in Mumbai. Each team must include at least two under-19 players, reinforcing focus on youth development.
With growing popularity of women’s cricket, the league is expected to play a key role in shaping the next generation of stars.
