India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England due to injury, with Mumbai’s Suryansh Shedge receiving his maiden call-up to the national team.
According to the BCCI, Reddy reported left quadriceps discomfort after the third ODI against Afghanistan on June 20. Following medical assessment, the BCCI medical team advised rehabilitation, ruling him out of both T20I assignments.
Reddy had featured in the Afghanistan series and also played a key role for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026, where he scored 302 runs and picked up eight wickets in 14 matches.
Suryansh Shedge earned his place after impressive performances for India A in the recently concluded tri-series in Sri Lanka. The 23-year-old scored 147 runs in five matches while also contributing with the ball, bowling 23 overs during the tournament.
Shedge was also among the standout performers for Mumbai in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 title-winning campaign, scoring 131 runs at an impressive strike rate of 251.92 in the lower middle order.
India will face Ireland in two T20Is on June 26 and 28 in Belfast, followed by the England T20I series starting July 1 in Durham.
Meanwhile, spinner Varun Chakravarthy remains unavailable as he continues rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence after a foot injury sustained during IPL 2026.
