Ontario, July 26: Indian squash star Anahat Singh scripted history by becoming the first Indian to win the World Junior Squash Championship title. The 17-year-old produced a commanding performance to defeat Egypt’s Ruqayya Salem 3-0 in the women’s singles final at the World Squash Junior Individual Championships in Ontario, Canada.
Top seed and world No. 20 Anahat dominated the summit clash from the start, winning 11-3, 11-7, 11-9 to clinch the prestigious junior world crown. The victory marks a major milestone for Indian squash, as no Indian had previously lifted the World Junior Championship title.
