India sealed a dominant 3-0 T20I series whitewash over Zimbabwe with a convincing 35-run victory in the third and final match at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday. Teen batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi starred once again, smashing a brilliant 81 off just 49 balls, an innings laced with eight fours and four sixes, to guide India to a challenging total of 192/5 in 20 overs.
After an early setback with Abhishek Sharma departing cheaply, Sooryavanshi stitched together a crucial partnership with Ishan Kishan (29), before accelerating in the middle overs. Although he narrowly missed out on a century, his aggressive knock earned him the Player of the Match award. He was also named Player of the Series for his outstanding performances throughout the tour.
Chasing 193, Zimbabwe struggled to keep pace despite a fighting 54 from Ryan Burl. India’s pace attack kept the hosts under constant pressure, with Mayank Yadav claiming 3/29 and Yash Thakur picking up two wickets to restrict Zimbabwe to 157/7 in their 20 overs.
The comprehensive victory underlined India’s dominance throughout the series, with the visitors winning all three matches comfortably. The triumph also helped India reclaim the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, capping off a highly successful tour. Youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi emerged as the biggest positive for India, impressing with his fearless batting and maturity beyond his years.
