The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated International MSME Day by organising the two-day ICAI ScaleUp India Summit 2026 for MSMEs and startups at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, on June 26 and 27, 2026.
The summit focused on strengthening India’s MSME and startup ecosystem through policy reforms, compliance support, funding opportunities, and business growth strategies. The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, Chartered Accountants, and representatives from leading financial institutions.
The summit was inaugurated by ICAI President CA. Prasanna Kumar D and ICAI Vice-President CA. Mangesh Kinare, in the presence of key officials and members of ICAI’s MSME & Startup Committee. Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Rahul Narwekar attended the inaugural session as the Guest of Honour.
A key attraction of the summit was the “Startup–Scale Up Tank”, where startups presented their ideas before investors and industry experts. Over 100 startups participated, with 12 shortlisted to pitch before venture capitalists for potential investment and collaboration opportunities.
The event featured discussions on startup innovation, cybersecurity, venture capital, SME IPOs, MSME finance, government marketplaces, and digital transformation. ICAI also highlighted its MSME Clinics initiative, offering free advisory services through 186 branches and five regional councils across India.
ICAI President CA. Prasanna Kumar D stated that the initiative aims to guide entrepreneurs throughout their business journey and support sustainable growth. The summit reinforced ICAI’s commitment towards empowering MSMEs, promoting entrepreneurship, and contributing to India’s economic development.
