Mumbai, August 21, 2026: ICICI Lombard General Insurance has achieved a Guinness World Records™ title for distributing the most helmets in 12 hours, with 25,468 helmets distributed across 14 locations in New Delhi on August 10.

The record-setting initiative was organised under the company’s flagship road safety CSR programme, ‘Ride to Safety’, as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations. The drive covered 13 schools and other locations, with helmets distributed to students and parents to encourage safer practices among two-wheeler riders and pillion passengers.

A road safety rally was also flagged off by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, in the presence of senior ICICI Lombard officials and representatives from the government and police.

ICICI Lombard said the record reflects its decade-long commitment to road safety. Since 2015, the company has distributed more than seven lakh helmets and claims to have impacted over 2.5 million lives across India through its road safety initiatives.

The company has also been working with traffic police on safer road practices, implementing zero-fatality solutions in high-risk areas and supporting accident victims through rehabilitation centres in Noida and Patna.

Sheena Kapoor, Head – Marketing, Corporate Communications & CSR, ICICI Lombard, said the Guinness World Records™ recognition was a proud milestone but stressed that road safety goes beyond setting records and requires sustained efforts to promote responsible road behaviour.

The achievement marks another milestone in ICICI Lombard’s ongoing efforts to promote safer mobility and reduce road fatalities across India.
