As Team India prepares for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, confidence is running high after their historic triumph in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup last year. Speaking on JioStar’s Champions Huddle, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, head coach Amol Muzumdar, and star batter Jemimah Rodrigues shared their thoughts on the team’s preparations and ambitions.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur said winning the team’s first ODI World Cup has transformed the squad’s mindset and boosted belief. She expressed hope that India can continue its successful run and add more ICC trophies to its cabinet.

Head coach Amol Muzumdar emphasized that pressure is a part of every major tournament but believes the players are well-equipped to handle expectations. He highlighted the team’s focus on building a winning culture over the past three years, stressing that consistent success has become a habit. Muzumdar also praised the players’ dedication and urged younger members of the squad to play fearlessly and contribute to India’s success.

Meanwhile, Jemimah Rodrigues believes India’s previous World Cup triumph has given the team invaluable confidence. She stated that having already experienced success on the biggest stage, the players know they can repeat the feat. Rodrigues added that the presence of several members from the World Cup-winning squad will help inspire younger players.

Calling India one of the favourites for the tournament, Rodrigues credited the passionate support of Indian fans and said the team is determined to continue its winning journey at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
