Mansi Patil Powers Thane Sky Risers to First Win in Mumbai Women’s League

Mumbai, June 9: Thane Sky Risers secured their first victory in the inaugural Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai Women’s League with a convincing 33-run win over SOBO Mumbai Falcons at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Opener Mansi Patil starred with a brilliant 55 off 37 balls, including nine fours and a six, helping the Sky Risers post a competitive 159/7 in 20 overs. She was well supported by Heeya Pandit, who contributed 36 runs in a crucial partnership after an early wicket.

In reply, the Falcons suffered a disastrous start, losing two wickets without scoring a run as Ashwini Nishad struck with the first two deliveries of the innings. Skipper Riya Chaudhari (23) and Vedika Nikam attempted to rebuild, but the Falcons never recovered from the early setbacks.

Prakashika Naik produced a match-winning spell of 3/25, while Trisha Parmar claimed 2/17 to keep the pressure on. Janhvi Kate’s quickfire 24 off 14 balls provided some resistance, but the Falcons were restricted to 126/9, suffering their first defeat of the season.

Despite the loss, SOBO Mumbai Falcons had already qualified for the final. The victory gave the Sky Risers a much-needed boost as the tournament heads towards its decisive stage.
