India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England as part of a workload management plan, the BCCI announced on Tuesday. The decision was taken after consultations between the board’s medical team and team management to ensure the pacer remains fit for a demanding international schedule ahead.
Siraj was initially included in India’s revamped T20I squad under newly appointed captain Shreyas Iyer. However, the selectors have opted to rest him as a precautionary measure despite his recent participation in the one-off Test against Afghanistan, where India secured a record innings-and-300-run victory.
To replace Siraj, the Men’s Selection Committee has named Prasidh Krishna in the squad for both series. The Karnataka pacer returns to the T20I setup after impressive performances in domestic and franchise cricket and will look to strengthen his claim for a regular spot in India’s pace attack.
India’s new-look squad also features exciting young talents, including 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who earned his maiden national call-up after a remarkable IPL 2026 season.
India will play two T20Is against Ireland in Belfast before touring England for a five-match T20I series from July 1 to July 11.
