Phantom Stars Defend TTSL Maharashtra Crown with Dominant Final Victory

Mumbai, May 4, 2026: Sanil Shetty led Phantom Stars to a commanding 14-8 win over Bayside Spinners TTC as they successfully defended their title in the Butterfly Table Tennis Super League (TTSL) Maharashtra 2026 at Khar Gymkhana.

The Commonwealth Games medalist set the tone early, defeating Jash Modi 3-0 in the men’s singles clash. He later teamed up with Shruti Amrute to secure a crucial mixed doubles win, keeping Phantom Stars firmly in control. Consistent performances across categories ensured the defending champions sealed the title with a match to spare.

Earlier, Phantom Stars edged past Mumbai Mozartt 14-11 in a gripping semi-final, with veteran Onkar Jog delivering under pressure. Bayside Spinners TTC, meanwhile, reached their maiden final after a convincing 14-8 victory over Century Warriors, powered by strong performances from Senhora D’souza and Parth Magar.

In the final, D’souza gave Bayside an early edge, but Phantom Stars quickly responded with dominant displays, including key wins from Annisha Patra and the Shetty-Amrute pairing. Patra, alongside Kaustubh Girgaonkar, sealed the triumph in the penultimate match.The tournament, organised by 11 Sports Private Ltd, featured eight teams and a prize pool of ₹7.25 lakh, highlighting the growing strength of grassroots table tennis in Maharashtra.

For their standout performances, Shetty was named Best Men’s Player, while Divyanshi Bhowmick earned the Best Women’s Player award, capping off a competitive and high-quality tournament.
