From Deepti to Kerr: 12 Match-Winning Bowlers Ready to Shape ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

As the countdown to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 gathers pace, some of the world’s most dangerous bowlers are preparing to take centre stage in England and Wales. From express pace to crafty spin, these stars could prove decisive in their teams’ quest for global glory.

India will once again rely heavily on Deepti Sharma, currently ranked among the world’s leading T20I bowlers and all-rounders. The experienced off-spinner has claimed 160 wickets in the format and recently registered her maiden T20I five-wicket haul against South Africa.

Defending champions New Zealand boast the ever-reliable Amelia Kerr, who was named Player of the Tournament during the 2024 edition after finishing as the competition’s highest wicket-taker with 15 scalps. The White Ferns captain enters the tournament with more than 100 T20I wickets to her name.

Australia’s pace-bowling all-rounder Annabel Sutherland has been her side’s leading wicket-taker since the previous World Cup, while England’s vice-captain Charlie Dean continues to establish herself as one of the most dependable spin bowlers in the game.

Pakistan’s top-ranked T20I bowler Sadia Iqbal and Bangladesh leg-spinner Rabeya Khan will also be key figures after impressive performances in recent international competitions.

South Africa’s attack receives a major boost with the return of legendary fast bowler Shabnim Ismail, who reversed her retirement earlier this year. Meanwhile, Ireland’s Arlene Kelly, Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce, Sri Lanka’s Kavisha Dilhari, Netherlands pacer Iris Zwilling and veteran West Indies spinner Afy Fletcher will all look to leave their mark.

With batting line-ups grabbing headlines, these bowlers could ultimately determine who lifts the coveted ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 trophy.
