Manisha, Neha Strike Gold as India Shines at Ulaanbaatar Open

New Delhi, June 5, 2026: Indian wrestlers continued their impressive run at the Ulaanbaatar Open Ranking Series in Mongolia, winning four gold medals and two bronze medals across the Women’s Wrestling and Greco-Roman categories.

Leading the charge were Manisha and Neha, who clinched gold medals in their respective weight divisions. Manisha secured the women’s 57kg title with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over DPR Korea’s Sim Son, while Neha emerged champion in the 59kg category after defeating DPR Korea’s Pyol Hong 5-3.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, Sunil captured the 87kg gold medal by beating Azad Salidinov 4-1, while Nitesh claimed top honours in the 97kg division with a 13-9 win over Nurassyl Amanaly. Sumit added a bronze medal in the 60kg category after overcoming fellow Indian Sahil 5-0.

Earlier, Neelam contributed to India’s medal tally by winning bronze in the women’s 50kg division with a dominant 10-0 technical superiority victory against Kazakhstan’s Maral Tangirbergenova.

With six medals already secured, India has made a strong start to the tournament. The Men’s Freestyle events and remaining Women’s Wrestling categories are set to begin on Day 3, offering more opportunities for Indian wrestlers to add to their medal haul.
