New Delhi, June 6, 2026: World No. 1 Minakshi and experienced boxer Deepak will lead India’s campaign at the World Boxing Cup 2026 (Stage 2), set to be held in Guiyang, China, from June 15 to 21.
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has announced a balanced squad featuring a mix of established stars and promising young talent across both men’s and women’s categories. India enters the tournament with growing confidence after a series of strong performances in recent World Boxing Cup events and World Championships.
India currently ranks third globally in terms of overall Top 10-ranked boxers and leads the world in the women’s division for the number of athletes ranked in the Top 3. Minakshi will headline the women’s squad, which also includes Poonam, Prachi, Mahi Lama, Saneh, Gitimoni G, Sanamacha C, Naina, and Alfiya Tarannum Akram Khan Pathan.
On the men’s side, Deepak will spearhead the challenge alongside Rishi S, Nikhil, Anmol, Abhinash Jamwal, Malsawmtluanga, Jugnoo, Harsh Choudhary, and Sawan G.
BFI President Ajay Singh expressed confidence in the team, highlighting India’s growing depth and consistency in international boxing. The tournament offers crucial ranking points and another opportunity for Indian boxers to strengthen their standing on the global stage.
