Shreyas Iyer, Aditya Tare Guide SOBO Mumbai Falcons to Maiden Win

Mumbai, June 4: Star batter Shreyas Iyer and experienced wicketkeeper-batter Aditya Tare starred as SOBO Mumbai Falcons registered their first victory in the Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai League 2026, defeating MSC Maratha Royals by three wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing 153, the Falcons got off to a flying start with Tare smashing 42 off just 19 balls, while Ishan Mulchandani added 29. Impact Player Iyer continued the momentum with a fluent 30 off 24 deliveries, helping the Falcons race to 106 in the 12th over.

However, the Royals fought back strongly after Iyer’s dismissal, triggering a middle-order collapse and reducing the Falcons to a tense position. With wickets falling regularly and pressure mounting, Gautam Waghela played a composed unbeaten knock of 26 off 23 balls to steer his side home with five balls to spare.

Earlier, MSC Maratha Royals posted 152/9 after opting to bat. Opener Sahil Jadhav led the charge with a blistering 52 off 30 balls, striking five fours and three sixes. Chinmay Sutar contributed 23, while Arjun Dani provided late impetus with a valuable 35.

The Falcons’ bowling attack was led by Akash Parkar and left-arm spinner Yash Dicholkar, who claimed three wickets each to restrict the defending champions.

With this win, SOBO Mumbai Falcons opened their account in the tournament and gained valuable momentum for the matches ahead.
